The National Institute of Fashion Technology was set-up in 1985-86 in New Delhi with the Vision to develop human resources in the fields of Fashion Design, Technology and Management. NIFT was set under the aegis of Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. Over the years, NIFT has set academic standards and excelled

Over the years, NIFT has set academic standards and excelled in thought leadership by providing a pool of creative genius and technical competence to the fashion industry, nationally as well as globally, through a network of seven centres at New Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Gandhinagar, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Mumbai.
The National Institute of Fashion Technology was established in 1995-96 and commenced functioning from GIDC Electronic Estate premises allotted by the State Government. After its own campus was constructed behind Infocity, NIFT shifted over in the 1st week of January 2004.

The National Institute of Fashion Technology invites application for the following Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes:
1.Undergraduate Programme in Design in the following      disciplines:
a. Fashion & Apparel.
b. Fashion & Textile.
c. Fashion & Life Style Accessories.
d. Fashion & Communication.
2. Undergraduate Programme in Fashion Technology.
3. Postgraduate Programme in Management.
4. Postgraduate Programme in Technology.

Application Procedure
All eligible candidates will have to appear for a written examination at any one of the following cities: New Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Gandhinagar, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Cochin, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Guwahati, Jaipur, Jammu, Lucknow, Patna, Raipur, and Ranchi.
